    2. FWIW, I'd like this better if it were a folding, human-powered electricity GENERATING bicycle. And also bake bread and take care of the kids...

    2. Great design and a boost in developing countries which need efficient and affordable transport...and also need jobs which this provides since the bike ambulances are manufactured in the area where they are used, thus helping to build skills and provide meaningful and sustainable jobs.

    2. this is definitely a greener option to the gas/petrol-powered bikes common in cities around the world. be sure to investigate different voltage and plug face options for expansion to the global market in the future ... other than that: I like! I want!

    2. Interesting project, but as a graphic designer, I really don't see any relevance of the name "CMYK" to the bike itself.
      Please explain!

    2. I agree to comments below. Although I like the idea with the bike, and somewhat minimal use of materials, the fact that the bike is powered defies its actual purpose of being a bike.

On another note, I somehow can't see a battery nor an engine to power this bike. If they really are that tiny that they're invisible, you're probably faster using pedal power.

    2. unfortunately, this design award seems to hide its real use: Cooper-Hewitt needs more people on their newsletter list to, and at the same time leaves space open for "people design award" to be negligent of sign-up and voting procedures.

As for this project, which seems to be voted for by a very small circle of individuals, along with bike projects like Treks Lime BIKE designed IDEO years ago, the impact of the "people's choice award" seems more like an industry insider's award, with the voting motto "for us, by us"

You don't have my support, especially not for design projects that are complete hypocrites.

    2. Facing the fact that comments all look too much alike and this project has bombed its way to the top votes, along with the fact that a non-human powered bike is a complete waste of energy (in several ways) I cannot think of this being neither a sustainable approach to a viable product nor does it deserve a design award, unless the designer nominates himself, and votes for himself at the same time.

      I completely agree to "urntlegit".
      There's my grain of salt...

    2. 4 comments...i like the idea of folding bikes if they take up less space and use less material, so good on ya there...but how is a battery powered bike greener than a pedal powered bike? How does a product with a much larger environmental impact than its relatives become green..except for in envy? Based on the dubious comments posted earlier with no 'real' feedback & seemingly by the same person, would you say this is point to consider CMYK?
